FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions:Since you are considering exposing some very personal aspects of your life, I have added this FAQ to my website to try to improve your comfort level. These are actual questions asked by customers. ______________________If you have questions, please email them to me at orthead@execnet.net and I will answer them. And, unless you state otherwise, I may include your new question in this FAQ. ______________________QUESTION. How do I make an appointment?ANSWER. Contact me at orthead@exenet.net or 724-352-1965 to get the ball rolling. I try to answer the phone personally 24/7, because many people do not want to leave a message and have me call back at an inconvenient time. The 724-352-1965 number is sometimes forwarded to my cell phone (724-316-2007). I will respond with some available days and times, and we can set up an appointment. ______________________QUESTION. I feel awkward about coming to someone’s house alone. Is it ok to bring along a friend to the initial meeting? And what about bringing along a friend to the shoot?ANSWER. I would like for you to feel comfortable during your photo or video session. My studio is in my home, and I live alone. You may bring along anyone you wish. ______________________QUESTION. We would like to know some details of what your studio is like. Your web site indicates that it is in your home. Is it a separate area from your typical living area? We had some pictures taken a number of years ago and the photographer’s wife and 9 year old son were at home, actually the son walked in on my wife at one point, it made things a little awkward.ANSWER. My studio is in my home. I live alone. Actually, my home is more like my base of operations. The studio and dressing room and dark room are attached to my home. Props are everywhere. ______________________QUESTION. If I order prints, but after they are printed I decide that I don’t like them, what happens then?ANSWER. No one is obligated to pay for something with which they are not pleased. If you don’t like the finished product, then leave it here and I will destroy it. Or, we can re-shoot, re-print, re-edit, or do whatever is needed to correct the problem. ______________________QUESTION. I see “Fetish OK” several places in your website. What does that mean?ANSWER. Many people would like to be photographed or video taped in unusual ways. “Fetish” refers to attention given to a an inanimate object, body part, body feature or sexual behavior. Some examples would be to be photographed or video taped in leather, or cross-dressing, or while restrained in handcuffs or ropes. While it is not for everyone, there are many people who enjoy this type of activity. And “Fetish OK” is my way of letting these people know that my services are available to them. ______________________QUESTION. Who wants this type of photo and video, and what do they do with them?ANSWER. I never ask. However, many people tell me without prompting, so that they can get the results they want. Just a few; (a) her boyfriend/husband is in the Armed Forces and stationed far away, and he wants a sexy photo of his honey to carry with him or to put up in his living area, (b) a woman’s mother suggested to her 35 year old daughter that she document her beauty before it fades, (c) a woman who was getting married wanted some sexy photos for a wedding gift to her husband, (d) as a gift to a lover, husband, or boyfriend on a special occasion, and (e) to keep in her dresser drawer to look at when she feel ugly. ______________________QUESTION. Are you typically the only person present during the photo shoot? It's OK if not, just want to know what to expect.ANSWER. No one will be present during a shoot unless the customer brings someone with them, or the customer requests me to have an assistant here with me. ______________________QUESTION. How long have you been doing this and is this your full time job or do you have other things you do? ANSWER. I have been taking photos and developing and printing photos since 1961. Started out in the U.S. Army taking photos with a secret camera disguised as a pack of Lucky Strikes cigarettes. Washington wanted the photos to be secure, so they provided me with the equipment to process and print the photos. This was so that no one but me would view the photos. I then turned the resulting prints over to the crypto guys and the crypto guys forwarded the prints to Washington. After I got out of the Army, I shot families, kids, and so forth up to the point when Walmart arrived with their 75 prints for 4 dollars.Since I could not compete with Walmart's prices, I started to specialize in whatever Walmart would not do.I have been shooting women in negligees and so forth for over twenty years. This has never been a full-time job. I actually have several part-time jobs. I like it better like that. I worked on the production crew for the Mr. Rogers Neighborhood show for about 35 years. I worked on the first show, the last show, and most of the ones in between. Mostly taping, shooting and editing. I still work on television productions. I worked on the National Geographic wildlife shows in the seventies, on the very first wildlife shows that National Geographic funded. We had film crews that shot on location (e.g., Siberia, Amazon River, Antarctica, Africa) and brought back the film. I transferred the film to tape and edited the programs. That lasted for about seven years. I am currently the President of the Theatrical Stage Employees for the Pittsburgh area (everything with 100 miles of Pittsburgh). Elected in 1982 (approximate) and re-elected every three years since then. We are currently negotiating contracts with CBS and The Meadows Race Track. My son and I have a stone quarry, and we go there and cut stone (mostly sledgehammers and wedges and a lot of hard work). I only do this for three hours a day, but not during the winter because the stone is frozen and does not split properly. My son and I buy and sell real estate. We have several houses, an apartment building, and about a dozen pieces of vacant land. ______________________QUESTION. Is there a particular day of the week or time of day that you prefer to take pictures? ANSWER. Monday thru Friday from 10am to 10pm, and Saturday and Sunday Noon to 6pm work out good for me. I schedule initial meetings and photo shoots by appointment only. Initial meetings take about twenty minutes. Photo shoots take about two hours. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate your schedule if needed. ______________________QUESTION. Also, how much advance notice do you need to schedule the shoot?ANSWER. Advance notice to schedule a shoot varies greatly. Just call or email me, and we can set up a time. I fit the photography in between my other activities. I prefer an informal meeting with photo and video customers prior to scheduling the shoot. An informal meeting allows you to see example prints and what props and so forth that I have, and I can kind of get an idea of what set I should have ready for the shoot. However, if you have to travel too far, we can skip the informal meeting and just wing it. ______________________QUESTION. We're interested in the 12-picture calendar but would also like to have the session video recorded, is this OK with you?ANSWER. Video taping the session if fine. I use a Sony camera with Mini-DV tape. If you just want a vhs copy of the raw tape, that would cost $20. If you want me to edit it, and make a DVD or VHS of the edited tape, then it would be $50. ______________________
QUESTION. How many individual pictures are taken to choose from to end up with the 12 needed for the calendar?ANSWER. I work in two hour sessions. In the first two hour session, we would probably take thirty or so pictures. A second session is usually needed. At the second session, we look at the contact sheets (each negative is about the size of a playing card), and decide what to use and what is still needed (another twenty or so pictures). Then we can shoot whatever is still needed. If we still don't have thirteen (we usually include a cover page), we can schedule a third session. ______________________QUESTION. You mention in your website that models are available to hire. What are the models typically used for? Are they ever incorporated or included in the pictures? This is something we might be interested in pursuing.ANSWER. By the way, I welcome models to get on my list. Each model has their own limits. The models do whatever you (the customer) and the model agree to do. I don't "rent" models to my customers. If you want a model to work with you, I take your contact info and ask what you have in mind. The cost is arranged between you and the model (I do not get a cut of the model's money). I take your information, and your proposal, and I will contact the models that are currently available. If the model is agreeable, the model will contact you, and you can discuss it with the model. Yes, some models have agreed to be incorporated into the photos, but that is something that is arranged between the customer and the model. If the model goes on location, either I go along as an assistant or the model takes a male friend with her (i.e., a bodyguard). In that case, there is an extra fee of $10 an hour for the bodyguard. ______________________QUESTION. Hello, I tried to call the phone number on your web site (724-352-1965) and it had an answering machine indicating a different number. Has your business status changed? I would like to get some information regarding a calendar and possible video. I have some questions but would like to talk to you on the phone. Would you please provide a current number where you can be contacted and at what time of the day is convenient for you? ANSWER. My business status hasn't changed in thirty years. 724-352-1965 is sometimes on call forward to my cell phone (724-317-2007). I have been using this system for years and it has worked fine, but it seems that recently the cell phone reception has gotten worse. I am usually on the road during the day, and in most areas the cell phone works ok. Unfortunately, my cell phone does not work in certain areas. In that case, if you dial 724-352-1965, the voice mail will state that you have reached 724-316-2007 (the cell phone number). I may have been in one of those (no reception) areas when you called. If you call back, I should be able to answer your call. I am usually available from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Please keep in mind that I can't answer the phone sometimes (e.g., when I am working in the darkroom). Hopefully, we will have better luck the next time you call. ______________________If this FAQ does not answer your questions, feel free to ask more. You may email me at photos@salsgiver.comWishing you well,Bill Moore, Soft Images, Inc______________________Links to other pages on website[ Home ] [ Calendars ] [ Boudoir Photos ] [ Photos for Models (and Potential Models) ][ Star in Your Own Erotic Video ] [ Private Film Processing ][ Frequently Asked Questions ] [ Directions to Studio ]______________________Contact InformationTo set up an appointment, or if you have questions or comments about Photography, Videography, or this website, feel free to contact me.E-mailphotos@salsgiver.comTelephone 724-352-1965Postal address Soft Images, Inc326 Edgewood DriveCabot, PA 16023 ______________________Copyright © 2008 Soft Images, IncLast modified: 05/07/08
